Lifing is built around one story per day. That single daily post becomes part of your personal timeline, gradually forming a record of your life as it unfolds.
There’s no need to write everything at once. You can start your story at any point in the day, add to it whenever you like, and come back to it later. Some people prefer to write little by little; others reflect at the end of the day. Both approaches work equally well.
The focus isn’t on speed or volume — it’s on consistency and intention.
Starting your story
When you open the compose page, you’ll see a guided layout designed to make writing easier and more structured.
As you type, your story autosaves automatically, so you never have to worry about losing progress. You can leave the page, return later, and continue exactly where you left off.
At the top of the compose page, you’ll also find your saved drafts. These allow you to quickly select a previous draft and have all fields repopulated, making it easy to continue working on a story you started earlier.
Writing with structure and flexibility
Each Lifing story is broken into clear sections that help shape your daily entry:
- Today I did
Capture what happened during your day — big events, small moments, or anything in between. - What I would do differently
A space for reflection, learning, or noting something you might approach another way next time. - Planning / Next steps
Use this section to look ahead — plans for tomorrow, ideas you want to remember, or things you want to focus on.
You don’t need to fill in every section every day. Some days may suit one part more than others, and that’s completely fine.
Formatting and live preview
Lifing allows you to format and style your story as you write. You can use headings, coloured text, and other familiar formatting options to organise your thoughts and highlight what matters most.
As you write, a live preview of your story is shown in the right-hand preview panel. This lets you see how your post will look once published, making it easy to adjust formatting, layout, or wording in real time.
Adding photos or videos
If you’d like to include photos or videos, you can add them directly to your story. Media can help capture moments visually or add extra context, but it’s always optional.
A simple text-only story is just as valid as one with images or video.
Editing after you’ve posted
Once your story is published, it isn’t locked in forever.
Lifing allows you to edit your story after posting, so if you want to refine wording, correct something, or add a thought you missed, you can do so. This keeps the experience flexible and removes pressure to get everything perfect the first time.
Watching your timeline grow
Each daily story becomes part of your personal timeline. Over time, this creates a collection of days that you can scroll back through and revisit.
You’ll also see simple statistics on your posts, such as views, helping you understand how your stories are being seen as you build your presence on Lifing.
